Our Method: The Manuscript Ladder

We don't follow a conveyor belt. Each project ascends through stages calibrated to its current state — some books enter at the top rung, others begin at the foundation.

5

Publication & Launch

Final files delivered. Distribution channels activated. Your book enters the world.

4

Design & Production

Cover artwork, interior typesetting, format conversion for print and digital.

3

Precision Editing

Line editing, copy editing, and proofreading — layered for maximum clarity.

2

Structural Shaping

Developmental feedback, chapter architecture, argument flow or narrative tension.

1

Manuscript Assessment

We read your work, identify its strengths, and recommend the right entry point on the ladder.

Questions Authors Commonly Raise

How do I know which editing level my manuscript needs?+

Submit your manuscript for a free initial assessment. We'll read the first three chapters and recommend the appropriate entry point on our Manuscript Ladder — no obligation attached.

What does a typical editing project cost?+

Pricing depends on word count, genre complexity, and editing depth. After assessment, we provide a fixed quote — never an open-ended estimate. Copy editing for a 70,000-word novel typically falls between €1,200 and €1,800.

Can I visit the studio in person?+

Absolutely. We welcome walk-in visits during office hours and encourage an initial face-to-face meeting. Ring ahead if you'd like a dedicated consultation slot.

Do you work with authors outside Ireland?+

Yes. While our studio is in Port Beverlyburgh, we serve authors remotely across Europe and beyond. All editorial work can be conducted via email and video call.

What file formats do you accept and deliver?+

We accept .docx, .doc, .rtf, .odt, and Google Docs links. Final deliverables include tracked-changes documents, clean manuscripts, print-ready PDFs, and EPUB/MOBI files where applicable.
